Not a single day goes by where I don't dance or workout {usually both},
so, while I do love my heels and skinny jeans, I tend to incorporate
fitnesswear into my daily wardrobe - yoga pants, fitted racerbacks, lightweight
off-the-shoulder tops; thus, when I'm shopping for workout clothing,
I try to make cute choices that allow me to show off both sides of my personality...
the fashionista and the dancer / semi-fitness ~~freak~~ lover.

I don't think it's possible to get more All-American than Keds.
They are, essentially, the footwear version of Apple Pie. And, like apple pie,
they basically go with everything - especially during
the spring / summer months {mine tend to spend
a lot of time hanging out with cutoff denim shorts,
simple dresses, and cotton rompers}.
So, of course, the new Champion Summer collection, has left me
a bit obsessed. After all, Memorial Day is a week away,

Two coats of ELLE COSMETICS Nail Lacquer On Location. Light Blue with {subtle} Iridescent Shimmer.

Yes. ELLE Magazine has a cosmetics line {available exclusively at Kohl’s and it. is. awesome.

Like Essie Bikini So Teeny, On Location is one of those shades that is subtle yet striking {being both pastel and super bright}, but that’s basically where the similarities end.

On Location is a lighter blue that features this incredible pink / blue iridescent shimmer that is only discernible in sunlight, but is so, so, so, so pretty and fantastically unique.

While I used two coats to ensure coverage, the opacity was perfect with just one {if you have a heavy-hand when applying, you could definitely get away with one coat}. I am so impressed with the quality of this lacquer line – definitely picking up more shades!

Truth: The Met Ball is basically the only Gala of
the year that I get excited about so I always pay very. close. attention
to the makeup and fashion.

This year, while I loved Ashley Greene's Marchesa gown, it was
her fierce makeup that caught my eye - a look that would be
just as perfect for a sassy Girls Night Out as it was for the
PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibit. And mark
has provided me with the deets from Celebrity Makeup Artist
Vanessa Scali to recreate it for such an occasion.

FACE + CHEEKS: "I started by prepping Ashley’s skin with mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30. I used my fingers to apply {by patting} concealer under the eyes. Then I applied mark Just Pinched in Nude onto her cheeks to add subtle warmth to her skin {Ashley just returned from a trip, so her skin is already sun-kissed and golden!}. I added mark Glowdacious Illiuminating Powder on the peak of her cheekbones. I set the look with mark Matte-Nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder.”

EYES: “I layered Ashley’s eyes with color by starting with the dark shade from mark Keep it Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Entourage. I applied it from the base of the lash up past the natural crease and out past the natural corner of the eye. This gave me depth to work with and established the shade for the eye. Then, I used the purple and taupe shades from mark On the Dot Bold Eye Color Compact to add color to the center of the eye and softness to the edges. I added a mix of the three colours under her bottom lashes. For extra intensity, I used mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set and smudged it into the shadow. I applied mark Color Me in Eye Crayon in Go Gold inside the waterline of her eye and added a touch of highlighter to the brown bone. I added the final touch to her eyes by applying a few layers of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black.”

LIPS: “To finish Ashley’s look, I gave her a soft, satin nude lip by using NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park.”

BROWS: “I complemented her brows’ shape by applying NARS Eyebrow Pencil in Jodhpur.”

I'm a ~~bit of a~~ loungewear worshipper.
Yoga pants / leggings? I own more pairs than I can count.
Trendy tracksuits {of the shorts variety}? I slip them on with teetering wedges
when I want to feel equally glamorous and comfortable.
Bandeaus? Check. Slouchy off-the-shoulder tops? Of course!
Yet somehow a robe has always evaded me. As in...
I-have-never-owned-one-before-in-my-life. True story.
So of course I said yes {!!!} when I was offered the Pine Cone
Hill Robe of my choice from Yvonne Estelle's.

Being one of those pink-loving ladies, I opted for the
Pine Cone Hill Sheepy Fleece Robe in Coral {which seemed like the
perfect year-round shade}. A little pink for Spring,
a little Orange for Summer / Fall, and a little Red for Fall / Winter.
Verdict? It completely lived up to my color expectations.

Not to mention the amazingness of the oversized pockets {I'm a sucker for anything
with pockets} and coziness of the plush aesthetic.

I truly wouldn't mind a sick day right about now, as it would involve
spending the day wrapped up in this bliss.

Unlike much of America, I wasn't introduced to Julianne Hough via
Dancing with the Stars {truth be told, I've never
even seen the show}; rather I met her acquaintance only recently while
dancing the cha-cha after randomly purchasing {and totally falling

I workout and dance at home up to three hours per. day.
Sometimes it's ballet, sometimes it's hip hop, and sometimes it's
a fusion of ballet / hip hop / cardio. Regardless of movement type,
one thing that is universal for all three is music {i.e. Sonos}.

Sonos Wireless Hi-Fi Music Systems are one of my ultimate
investment pieces {made all the more affordable with Sonos Coupons},
as they produce big sound {perfect for ~~blasting~~ playing my
Jamiroquai and Cascada} in sleek aesthetics {that are just as
essential for home decor as they are dance}.

The SUB is my favorite Sonos offering at the
moment, as you can tuck it underneath a bed or couch {yes, it's that small}
and still stream your entire music library from it. The PLAY:3 is a
close follower as the pricepoint is perfect - as is its
ability to produce stellar sound in either a horizontal or vertical
position. And the PLAY:5? Honestly...it's kind of impossible to resist

Also pertinent... wireless controls {why can't everything have

Hello, completely necessary nail color for everyone’s personal collection. And I mean that.

Bikini So Teeny {that of the adorable name and chic color} is one of those almost-pastel shades that somehow manages to be both pale and bright - not to mention that it features a super subtle silver shimmer throughout that ups the amazing factor even more.

Application was perfect – smooth and, even better, no streaking. Two coats gave me full opacity. And just for the record… this color is just as gorgeous for summer pedicures as it is manis!

Tomorrow is May 1, the temperatures in SoCal have
already begun to hover at 90* {and sometimes higher} on a daily basis,
and...I'm in possession of Koffer24 Coupons;

Do you remember the Seafoam Green color that was in those 64-Pack boxes of Crayola crayons {it was my favorite shade}? Maybelline’s Green with Envy is basically that exact shade for your nails.

Greener than China Glaze's For Audrey, and thicker than Essie’s Mint Candy Apple {resulting in the need for less coats for coverage}; Green with Envy is one of those amazing drugstore finds that gives you luxury-brand lacquer quality at a fraction of the price {$2.99 a bottle - I can dig it}. Opacity and formula is fantastic on this shade. I had a wonky brush that was slightly uncooperative; but past experience with the Maybelline Color Show line proves that not all brushes suffer the same prob. Love it for winter, spring, summer, and fall. Must have!

{famous footwear style challenge} converse shoreline in my closet!

You may remember that last week I faux-styled the Converse Shoreline
in White as part of the Famous Footwear Style Challenge.
Well... Famous Footwear was kind enough to send me a pair
to style with pieces from my very own closet.

As I mentioned in my previous post, the Converse Shoreline looks like the
typical Converse lo-top; but it is made specifically
for women, and features an elastic band at the back to make it a slip-on style {which
is basically the best. thing. ever.

Anyway, here are just two of the ways I've styled the Shoreline.
P.S. Apologies for my lack of makeup in these pictures. I've been dancing
a lot lately, and my thighs are kind of blown at the moment, so...
getting dressed is about all I've been able to manage.

summer style...for your iphone {case-mate review}

When the seasons change, I don't just overhaul my personal wardrobe;
I overhaul the wardrobe of my tech accessories, as well {i.e. my
never-leave-a-room-without iPhone}. After all, if it's going to mesh
with my summertime style it needs a few sunshine-worthy looks of
its own - like the Jessica Swift ISVEA and Cockatiel Icon
cases I scored from Case-Mate.

I consistently have amazing experiences with Case-Mate
in general; but I love the new Jessica Swift designs for the season,
as they are hand-drawn {gotta love that unique vibe} and
bright {so they stand-out in a crowd, and look amazing
paired with neon nail colors - the beauty aspect is always something that
should be considered, yes?}.

Functionality {of course} is an essential detail {iPhone's do not
come cheap}; which is why the security aesthetic on both of these is one of my favorite
things. Unlike a lot of cases that simply slide on the back {1 piece}; these feature 2-piece
designs which cover the back, then snap over the front for bonus
bumper protection.

Perfect prints. Optimal protection. Seriously... what more
could you ask for?
